Easy EPCOT Entrance
Do you want to enter EPCOT without all the lines, walking and tram ride? Consider coming in EPCOT's back door. Officially known as the International Gateway; the entrance is located between France and England in the World Showcase. This entrance is only accessible from the Boardwalk Resort area or the Yacht & Beach Club Resort area. If you want a great way to get right into World Showcase this is the perfect entrance.
The International Gateway is also great for guests that want to take a break from EPCOT and enjoy the Boardwalk area; maybe grab something to eat, enjoy a bike ride, or just a relaxing walk. Then, when you are ready to return you can walk or take the boat transportation back to the International Gateway.
When we visit WDW we always stay on property. And we almost always get a car. By staying on property you get free parking at the parks along with entrance to all the other resorts. What we normally do is drive over to Yacht & Beach Club Resort, park, and walk from the resort to the back gate. We especially take advantage of this when we have Disney Dining priority seating at one of the EPCOT restaurants. This makes the travel time more predictable and ensures we make our priority seating time.
International Gateway entrance benefits include:
1. Typically short or no wait to enter EPCOT
2. Nice pleasant walk from either Boardwalk or Yacht & Beach Club Resorts
3. Right in the World Showcase between France and England
4. Leave the park and you don't have to tangle with the crowds getting on the Trams or Monorail
5. Easy access to leave the park
6. Efficient entrance when you have Disney Dining priority seating at a restaurant in the World Showcase
I would not recommend this entrance if you are trying to get in early morning for the attractions in the Future World section, although the International Gateway typically opens a few minutes early to allow guests to walk to Future World. I highly recommend the backdoor of EPCOT, the International Gateway, as a relaxing, easy entrance to EPCOT.
